| Having danced professionally for most of her adult life, Lisa was first introduced to the Pilates method through work with master teachers Dianne Miller, Mairin Wilde, Matthias Gustavsson and Risa Matthews. After retiring from performing in 2007 as a result of chronic injury, she discovered the strength of Pilates in assisting with the rehabilitation process. Inspired by its life-changing results on others both physically and emotionally, Lisa interned at Boditree Pilates while completing their certification process alongside a Masters in Counselling Psychology.
Lisa’s primary interest in the Pilates method lies in its intelligent capacity to replace less than optimal patterns in the body with more efficient and productive ones. Teaching at Esprit de Core since 2007, Lisa encourages clients to be fully engaged with and understand what they are doing physically in order to create the lasting changes they wish to see. Her fascination with and years of experience studying how the body comes to move (or becomes blocked from moving!) in space has provided her with a keen eye; her classes are known to be both challenging and rewarding and she offers consistent feedback in a supportive and fun environment.
